Six Months

I hope you have some time on your hands because I’ve got lots to share since my last entry. I turned 6 months old this week, I have learned a bunch of new tricks, I had my first 4th of July, and I’m eating new stuff! The world just gets sweeter and sweeter the older I get!

Even though I didn’t get to see any fireworks, I had a great 4th of July. Mom and Dad didn’t have to work and we had a fun day in the city. We went to Columbus Park and I couldn’t get enough of the grass – it felt so cool! I also got to wear a cute new outfit that Auntie Meghan gave me – see my red, white and blue? The fireworks in Boston don’t go off until 10:30pm and Mom said I couldn’t stay up that late, so I missed them. The next morning I heard that the sound of them going off woke Dad out of a dead sleep, but I slept right through them! Mom and Dad tivo’d them so I could watch them on TV the next day, but to tell you the truth, I didn’t think they were that interesting.

Want to hear about all my new tricks? I can now rollover both ways: back to belly & belly to back. Yesterday, I rolled across the living room floor. I’m pretty thrilled with that one. When I wake up from naps I like to move all around my crib and turn on my mobile so my parents start to hear music from the monitor. It cracks them up every time.

I can also clap my hands now! It’s good fun. Whenever I hear “Yay! Clap Clap!” I start to do it. Unless my Mom is trying to show off this new trick, then I like to just stare at Mom like she’s on drugs J I can cheer on the Red Sox much better now that I can clap.

Last weekend was really trippy. Mom, Dad and I sat down at the dinner table and they put this gloppy mass in my mouth – they called it pears. I was like, “what on earth is this crap! Am I supposed to eat this???”. Worst part was they kept giving it to me day after day – once in the morning and once in the evening. Turns out, it was an acquired taste – I love the stuff now! I get pretty pumped when I see it coming and the spoon thing is great. I dig having dinner as a family – it’s a good time. I even laughed at the table last night, I was having such a fun time. They also give me mom’s milk to wash down the pears in this new contraption called a sippy cup. At first I couldn’t figure that thing out, so I just decided to chomp my gums on it, but now I’m starting to get that you have to suck on it to get the liquid out, so no more thirsty Grace at dinner. Mom and Dad want me to learn how to hold it while I’m drinking but I think I’ll allow them to do all the work of feeding me for a bit longer – why rush out of a good thing? Here's a picture of me after eating with my Guns and Roses Appetite for Destruction bib on.

Life seems good, right? It pretty much is, except for this nasty pain in my gums. I cut my first tooth last weekend. You can just feel the top of that sucker, it’s not all the way up yet – unfortunately. I can’t wait until it’s done growing through. Although Mom told me I still have 19 of them to come - great, thanks for ruining my day, Mom!

Well, I’d better be signing off now – got to get some sleep.
